The DPS Hostel Lockset is a pair of specially designed handles and a Cisa 42032 latch lock and is suitable for use on university and hostel residence doors. The occupant maintains control by using a 40mm padlock on the outside. By locking using a padlock it prevents unauthorized access to the snib which is used to open the door lock from the outside. A key is not issued for the cylinder hence from the inside they make use of a thumb turn.
The administration will possess the keys to the cylinder which can be used to retract both the deadbolt and latch bolt. If the student loses keys to their padlock, it is removed by a bolt cutter and they will need to replace with a new one. This lock must is used with a heavy duty euro profile double throw cylinder lock with anti-thrust latch, which prevents the retraction of the latch by illicit manipulation. The euro profile key and turn cylinder is not supplied and must be ordered separately. Supplied with fixing screws and strike plate.
